Wedding Planning in a Pandemic: 101
Welcome back to wedding planning! With a primary goal of safety first, Florida Wedding Expo by Your Wedding TV, the first public event back to the Orange County Convention Center since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, was a HUGE SUCCESS. Approximately 1500 attendees including 600+ brides and grooms, were able to meet and connect safely with over 100 of Central Florida’s most popular wedding professionals.

After months of planning and modifications, the Florida Wedding Expo was honored to receive the recognition of local news media and community leaders, and the support of the country’s premier event venue as host of this long awaited, extremely popular event.
A variety of high-level safety measures and protocols were implemented with the guidance of medical partner, Orlando Health, and OCCC’s GBAC Star certification for cleanliness and sanitization. Event sponsors provided state of the art equipment such as sanitizer stations and thermal temperature screening kiosks, and even live access to a virtual Orlando Health medical professional to consult with as needed throughout the event.

Special features and modifications were incorporated to assure confidence and safety for all participants, including contactless registration options, an integrated mobile event app, and live streaming of the event which provided an opportunity for all participating vendors to also interact with an extended virtual audience. Giveaways were scheduled both during the live and virtual events and continued on social media in the weeks following the show.
Event industry vendors were thrilled to finally meet with engaged couples again, even with face coverings as required. Exhibitors and attendees alike enjoyed the wider spaced aisles and ability to avoid crowding while taking in all the elements and features of the day. Fashion segments were ongoing throughout the day so guests could come and go and safely distance themselves in the seating areas.
